Friends of Wagner Farm to host masterpiece art auction fundraiser

Friends of Wagner Farm, an organization providing stewardship and funding support for Glenview's Historic Wagner Farm, will host the Masterpiece Art Auction on Saturday, Dec. 4, to raise funds for ongoing programming at Wagner Farm. The event will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Lakeview Rooms at Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave., Glenview, and will include dinner, curated cocktails, live music and more than 15 pieces of original art by award-winning and nationally recognized Chicagoland artists including Elise Boughner, Josh Dreyfus, Carolynn Friedman, Candice Klopfenstein, Josh Moulton, Andryea Natkin, Julie Reilly and Casey Van Loon. This is the first in-person fundraiser hosted by FWF since 2017. Tickets are available online at friendsofwagnerfarm.org.

"For years, the Historic Wagner Farm has supplied fresh produce, served as home to Glenview's Farmers Market and provided a way for children to learn about and connect with nature," said Friends of Wagner Farm Vice President Karen Diener. "The Masterpiece Auction celebrates Wagner Farm's ongoing impact and will support future programming and opportunities. We're excited to provide a setting for a fun night and contribute to a great cause."

Since its creation in 2003, FWF has supported Wagner Farm operations, programming, staffing and property maintenance to help provide educational opportunities surrounding agriculture and the history of farming in Glenview. The Dec. 4 event will help fund FWF programs including the Field Trip Scholarship program, which covers the costs of field trips to Wagner Farm from schools with limited resources, and the Farm Apprentice Program, which provides hands-on internship experiences to high school- and college-aged students interested in learning about agricultural production.

The event is sponsored by private and business sponsors, including Worsek & Vihon LLP; Monahan Law Group, LLC; Art Post Gallery; Glenview Bank & Trust/Wintrust Wealth Management; Baker Demonstration School: Sunset Foods; Connie Dornan, Broker @properties; and American Graphics Network, Frank Sclavenitis. In addition to the dinner and auction, attendees will enjoy music by 3rd Coast String Quartet, an open bar, trivia and professional caricature drawing.

"It's our mission to help as many people as possible experience all that Wagner Farm has to offer," said Friends of Wagner Farm board member Lloyd A. Bettis. "Wagner Farm provides enriching experiences for folks of all ages, from its Heritage Center to locally grown produce to year-round educational opportunities. It truly is the jewel of the north shore."

Anyone purchasing tickets must attest they are vaccinated, or that they will receive a negative COVID-19 test 48 hours prior to the event date and will follow all current state/local requirements.
