1 million vaccine doses administered in Lake County

The Lake County Health Department says its vaccine providers have administered more than 1 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to residents.

According to data from the Illinois Department of Public Health, more than 69% of eligible Lake County residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine and 60% are fully vaccinated. The first dose was administered in Lake County in December 2020. There are more than 200 vaccination sites throughout the county. Many providers such as pharmacies and community clinics offer walk-ups for first and second doses as well as booster shots, health officials said.

Clinics in Waukegan and Round Lake are open by appointment to everyone age 5 and older who needs first or second doses. Visit allvax.lakecohealth.org.
