Naperville 203 reaches tentative deal on contract for support workers

Naperville Unit District 203 officials announced Tuesday that they've reached a tentative agreement on a contract with support workers from the Naperville Education Support Professionals Association.

The members of NESPA have been working without a contract since June. The previous three-year contract provided an average raise of about 4% for the approximately 600 NESPA members spread across 22 district schools.

District officials provided no other comment, saying in a statement "Additional information regarding the agreement will be shared pending ratification by the NESPA membership and approval by the board of education."

Union officials could not be reached for comment.

Contract talks began in April as the union sought a restructuring of pay schedules for its members, who include computer support associates, health technicians, campus supervisors, special education assistants and others.
