No injuries in house fire near Lisle

A single-family house in unincorporated Lisle was left uninhabitable after a fire late Sunday night.

No one was injured in the fire on the 600 block of 59th Street, which was first reported via a 911 call to the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District at around 11:07 p.m.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found an aggressive interior house fire. They then initiated a search of the home, officials said. Lisle-Woodridge units were assisted at the scene by units from the Darien-Woodridge Fire Protection District and the Downers Grove Fire Department.

The fire was under control approximately 20 minutes after the arrival of fire district personnel, but units stayed at the scene until around 12:30 a.m. Monday to perform salvage duties and to overhaul the burned areas of the house.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, authorities said.
