No injuries in Warrenville house fire
A single-family house in Warrenville was left uninhabitable after an early Tuesday morning fire.
No one was injured in the fire that started around 1:30 a.m. on the 3S600 block of Elizabeth Avenue.
When crews from the Warrenville Fire Protection District arrived at the house, they were met by the homeowner, who informed them that all the occupants were out of the house. Flames were visible on the exterior of the rear of the two-story structure.
Firefighters immediately began extinguishment efforts on the exterior fire before transitioning to the interior. The fire was deemed under control within 15 minutes, though crews remained on the scene for several hours to assist fire investigation teams.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire. Because the building was left uninhabitable, the homeowners were displaced. They are staying with family.
Warrenville was assisted on scene by the Naperville Fire Department, Wheaton Fire Department, Winfield Fire Protection District, Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District, DuPage County Fire Investigation Taskforce, Warrenville Police Department, ComEd and Nicor. The Carol Stream Fire Protection District assisted by providing station coverage.
