Here are recent incidents reported by the Glenview Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation; defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Sept. 22

 

Burglary from Vehicle: On 9/22/21 at 1118 hours a resident reported their vehicle's front passenger window smashed and items stolen from inside the car as it sat parked in a parking lot in the 3800 block of Willow Road.

DUI -- Combination of Drugs: On 9/22/21 at 1142 hours Sergey Rom, 51, of Arlington Heights, was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence -- Combination of Drugs and Failure to Reduce Speed following a traffic crash investigation at Milwaukee Avenue and Central Road. He was released on a D-bond with a court date set for 10/25/21, Skokie Courthouse.

Sept. 23

Burglary from Vehicle: On 9/23/21 at 1920 hours Officers responded to Community Park West, 1001 Zenith Drive, for a burglary to motor vehicle. Officers located a vehicle with a broken window. The owners were notified and will inventory the car as soon as possible.

Sept. 24

Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts: On 09/24/2021 at 0804 hours a resident reported between 09/23/2021 at 1930 hours and 09/24/2021 at 0730 hours, an unknown offender stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle while the vehicle was parked in the 1700 block of Greenwood Road. Reported loss is $500.

Disorderly Conduct: On 09/24/2021 at 1101 hours a business in the 900 block of River Drive reported a disturbance with a customer.

Stolen Vehicle: On 09/24/2021 at 1101 hours a Grayslake resident reported while he was inside a business in the 2400 block of Sanders Road an unknown person stole his vehicle and attached trailer from the parking lot. Reported loss is $32,000.00.

Forgery: On 09/24/2021 at 1338 hours a business in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road reported business checks forged and cashed against the business account.

Criminal Trespass to Property: On 09/24/2021 at 1653 hours a resident in the 600 block of Glenridge Drive reported an unknown offender removed four trees from their property without permission.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                       
 

Battery: On 09/24/2021 at 2133 hours a resident reported having a water balloon thrown at their vehicle causing the balloon to break and the driver getting wet from the liquid, while driving on Glenview Road at Greenwood Road. Officers met with all involved parties.

Sept. 25

Assault: On 09/25/2021 at 0257 hours an employee of a business in the 1400 block of Milwaukee reported an altercation with a group of customers. While the customers were leaving, one subject made a hand gesture toward the employee making the employee feel like they were about to be battered.

Sept. 26

Possession of Cannabis: On 9/26/21 at 0241 hours two juveniles were cited under Village Ordinance for Curfew Violation, Minor in Possession of Alcohol and Possession of less than 10 grams of Cannabis following the investigation of a suspicious vehicle in the 3800 block of Knollwood Lane. Both juveniles were released to their parents.

Burglary from Vehicle: On 9/26/21 at 1731 hours a Schaumburg resident reported the rear drivers side window broken on their vehicle and items stolen from inside while the vehicle was parked, unoccupied, at a Park District facility in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

Sept. 27

Trespassing: On 9/27/21 at 1904 hours a business in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported an unwanted customer on the business property. Officers gave the customer trespass notice to the business at the employee's request. The customer left the property.

Sept. 28

Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts: On 9/28/21 at 0838 hours a resident reported sometime in the overnight hours between 9/25/21 and 9/26/21 the catalytic converter was stolen from underneath their vehicle while it was parked, unoccupied, in a lot in the 1900 block of Shermer Road.

Assault: On 9/28/21 at 1008 hours a resident in the 3200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported a neighbor told them "I'm going to pound you" while they sat outside their home. The comment made the complainant feel they were about to be battered.

Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts: On 9/28/21 at 1656 hours a resident reported sometime between 9/27/21 and 9/28/21 the catalytic converter was stolen from underneath their vehicle as the vehicle sat parked, unoccupied, in a parking lot in the 1700 block of Greenwood Road.

Sept. 30

Unwanted Subject: On 9/30/21 at 2008 hours an employee of the Glenview Ice Center, 1851 Landwehr Road, reported a dispute over a face covering with a patron. Officers spoke with the patron and they left the building.

Oct. 1

Retail Theft: On 10/01/21 at 1226 hours, Lamar Wimberly, 54, of Des Plaines, was taken into custody by the Des Plaines Police Department on a Glenview warrant for Retail Theft. He was transported to the Glenview Police Department and charged with four counts of Retail Theft regarding incidents occurring at 2323 Capital Drive and 2850 Patriot Boulevard. Wimberly posted bond and was released into the custody of the Niles Police Department for their investigation.

Criminal Damage to State Supported Property: On 10/01/21 at 0907 hours, Glenview Public Works employees reported damage at 2701 Aviator Lane. The second floor elevator control panel for the east elevator was missing, with the wires cut. The damage occurred sometime overnight between 09/30/21 and 10/01/21.

Theft: On 10/01/21 at 1107 hours Skokie resident reported leaving property on the counter of a business in the 2400 block of Glenview Road. When they returned to the business the property was missing.

Disorderly Conduct: On 10/01/21 at 1541 hours an Evanston resident reported a group of juveniles inside a business in the 900 block of Harlem Avenue not wearing masks. The complainant spoke with the juveniles who made insulting gestures toward them.

Oct. 2

Domestic Battery: On 10/02/21 at 1649 hours, Anthony Bova, 45, of Glenview, was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery and Violation of Order of Protection following the investigation of an incident in the 700 block of Laramie Avenue. He was held for a bond hearing at the Skokie Courthouse.

DUI: On 10/02/21 at 2256 hours, Kathryn Leydon, 43, of Glenview, was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Leaving the Scene of a Vehicle Damage Accident, and Speeding, following the investigation of a Hit and Run traffic crash. She was released on an I-bond with a court date of 10/25/21, 0900 hours, Skokie Courthouse.

Theft: On 10/02/21 at 1313 hours a resident in the 1200 block of Raleigh Road reported selling an item through an online sales website. They mailed the property before receiving payment and have not received payment yet. Reported loss is $870.

Oct. 3

Theft: On 10/03/21 at 1651 hours a Morton Grove resident reports personal items stolen from a hotel room in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

Oct. 4

Retail Theft: On 10/04/2021 at 1037 hours, an employee of a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported two subjects stole cosmetic products from the store on 09/20/2021 at 1550 hours. Total reported loss is unknown at this time.

Motor Vehicle Theft: On 10/04/2021 at 1246 hours, an employee of a plumbing business reported parking their work truck in the 2100 block of Willow Road. Five minutes later, the vehicle was gone. The vehicle was described as a box truck with a trailer attached hauling an excavator. The truck was equipped with a GPS locator. Glenview Detectives located the truck in the 3300 block of West 31st Street Chicago, Illinois. Two unknown subjects fled from the truck and left in a silver Chevrolet Trailblazer. The trailer and excavator were not attached to the truck when it was located. Detectives recovered the trailer and excavator when previous GPS locations showed the truck had stopped for a short time in the 3600 block of South Iron Street, Chicago, before being found on 31st Street.

Oct. 6

Disorderly Conduct: On 10/6/21 at 1511 hours a business in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported a customer making lewd remarks and fled out of the business.

Oct. 7

Theft: On 10/7/21 at 1302 hours a business in the 4300 block of Regency Drive reported the catalytic converter stolen from a company truck as it sat parked, unoccupied, in the parking lot, sometime in the overnight hours on 8/20/21.

Retail Theft: On 10/7/21 at 1716 hours a business in the 2900 block of Patriot Boulevard reported on 9/3/21 at 1757 hours a suspect left the store without paying for two computer items. Reported loss is $3,999.98.

Oct. 8

Criminal Damage to Property: On 10/8/21 at 0940 hours a resident in the 0-100 block of Park Drive reported between 10/07/2021 at 1800 hours and 10/08/2021 at 0610 hours, an unknown person shattered the front passenger window on their vehicle. Reported loss is $150.00.

Theft: On 10/8/21 at 1441 hours a resident in the 2300 block of Carrington Way reported between 12/15/2020 and 03/31/2021 an unknown offender stole items from their home. Estimated loss is $7500.00.

Oct. 10

Domestic Battery: On 10/10/21 at 2257 hours Theodore Lazar, 57, of Glenview, was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery following the investigation of a dispute at 511 North Branch Road. He was held for a bond hearing.

Oct. 11

Domestic Battery: On 10/11/21 at 0457 hours Samuel Bova, 35, 4546 Lilac Avenue, Glenview, was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery following the investigation of a dispute at 1503 Executive Lane. He was held for a bond hearing.

Stolen Vehicle: On 10/11/21 at 0704 hours a resident in the 800 block of Fairhope Avenue reported sometime between 10/10/21 at 2000 hours and 10/11/21 at 0700 hours someone stole their vehicle from the driveway.

Burglary: On 10/11/21 at 1036 hours a resident in the 2500 block of Glenview Road reported sometime between 10/6/21 and 10/9/21 several kitchen appliances were stolen from inside their detached garage. Reported loss is $5,870.
