West Chicago mayor elected to Illinois Municipal League board

West Chicago Mayor Ruben Pineda was elected to the Illinois Municipal League board on Sept. 25 during the annual business meeting as a part of the 108th IML annual conference in Chicago.

Pineda was elected as one of 34 vice presidents who will serve a 1-year term. The IML membership also elected Decatur Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe to serve a 1-year term as president.

"I look forward to working with mayors from across the State and assist in solving the complex issues our communities and state face," Pineda said in a statement. "Through this exchange of ideas, we will better advocate for local government at the State and federal levels."

The league was founded in 1913 and is a statewide organization representing local communities throughout Illinois.
