Culver's coming to Bloomingdale in 2022

Construction will begin early next year on a new Culver's restaurant in Bloomingdale after the village board gave its approval Monday.

The 4,100-square-foot American fast-food restaurant will be at 130 S. Gary Ave., in the Meijer parking lot.

Village President Franco Coladipietro said it's a welcome addition in Bloomingdale.

"I think it's reflective of our retail strength," Coladipietro said. "They had been looking to establish themselves around the area for a long time."

Developer McCON Building Corp. could not be reached for comment.

The Wisconsin-based restaurant has become known as a Midwestern food staple with cheese curds, custards and burgers and has been expanding in the Chicago area.

The restaurant will seat 81 customers and have a drive-through, plus a parking lot for up to 50 vehicles.
