Cary Junior High School evacuated

Cary Junior High School was evacuated briefly Wednesday while police investigated a bomb threat that turned out to be unfounded, authorities said.

The Cary Police Department arrived at the school at 2109 Crystal Lake Road at 8:50 a.m.

School officials told police a student reported hearing another student threaten to bomb the school. Police didn't find any signs of a bomb, and students soon returned to class, according to the news release.

The police identified the student who made the threat and are working with District 26 to determine if any legal action will be taken, the news release said.
