DuPage arts festival canceled due to COVID-19 concerns
Concern about the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has prompted DuPage County to postpone a Fine Arts Festival scheduled for later this month.
The community event was to have taken place from Sept. 24 to 26 at the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton.
The county board's ad hoc committee on the fine arts voted to postpone the festival on Wednesday, citing the virulence of the COVID-19 delta variant.
"While I am disappointed that we cannot conduct the festival in September as we had hoped, there is nothing more important than the health and safety of our residents," Lynn LaPlante, the committee chair, said in a statement.
The committee hopes to reschedule the festival for spring 2022.
