Bail hearing postponed for skateboarder accused of Wheaton man's murder

A bail hearing for professional skateboarder Terry W. Kennedy, who is charged with murdering a Wheaton man, has been postponed until Aug. 9.

Kennedy appeared before DuPage County Judge Michael Reidy Tuesday morning. He asked the hearing be rescheduled so that a private attorney he intends to hire can appear on his behalf.

The 36-year-old Long Beach, California, man has been in jail since July 28, when he was arrested on charges of aggravated battery in connection with an assault of Josiah Kassabun, 23, in an Oakbrook Terrace hotel. Kassabun died Saturday, and the first-degree murder charges were filed Monday.
