36th Annual Scarecrow Fest slated for October in St. Charles

The St. Charles Business Alliance announced on Thursday the 36th Annual Scarecrow Fest will be held from Oct. 8 through Oct. 10.

Individuals, families, businesses, clubs, schools and others can enter the scarecrow contest by completing the entry form - found at www.scarecrowfest.com/scarecrowcontest - by Sept. 18. Awards will be given out in four different categories.

"We are hoping for some great weather so everyone can come out and enjoy this great community event," St. Charles Business Alliance Executive Director Jenna Sawicki said in a statement.

The scarecrow contest is just one part of the three-day event in downtown St. Charles. In addition to scarecrows being displayed throughout the area, there will be a family zone with live entertainment in Lincoln Park, scarecrows in a box for families to build and a photo op area.

The Autumn on the Fox Arts and Crafts Show also will take place that weekend at Pottawatomie Park.
