Northbrook police reports: July 16-22

Retail theft: Saks Off Fifth, 100 block Skokie Boulevard. Complainant reported that several male and female black subjects entered the store and removed numerous items without paying for them.
Residential burglary: 2100 block Valencia Drive. Complainant reported they returned home to find an open door that had been damaged. and several personal items missing.
Criminal defacement: Floral Park, 3100 block Floral Drive. Complainant reported new graffiti on a park slide.
Stolen vehicle: 2500 block Fairford Lane. Complainant reported that unknown subject(s) entered and took an unlocked vehicle from the driveway during the overnight hours.
Criminal defacement: Techny Prairie Park, 1700 block Techny Road. Officer on routine patrol observed new graffiti on a concrete ledge and wooden post in the skate park.
Theft -- lost/mislaid property: Techny Prairie Park, 1700 block Techny Road. Complainant reported they had forgotten their skateboard at the park, and when they returned to retrieve it, it had been taken.
No valid driver's license: Willow Road and Westleigh Drive. Luis F. Membreno, 20, of Highwood, was charged with speeding and driving without a valid license after a traffic stop, police said. Membreno was released after posting $2,500 bond. His next court date is Aug. 23 in Skokie.
Identity theft: A resident of the 1700 Block Tudor Lane came into the police station to report that they had responded to a text message allegedly from the Illinois Secretary of State regarding their driver's license. Complainant completed the request on the text message. Several days later, they received a notification that their information was used to file for unemployment benefits.
Criminal defacement: Skate Park, 1700 block Techny Road. Officer on routine patrol observed several instances of new graffiti.
Identity theft: 1800 block Ellendale Road. Complainant reported that they were alerted to a balance on a cellular account that they did not open.
Identity theft: 1000 block Cayuga Drive. A resident called police to report they had received notification that their information was used to apply for unemployment benefits without their permission.
Harassing telephone calls: 1000 block Sanders Road. Complainant reported they had been receiving unwanted calls from a "private" number.
Theft: Dynaudio North America, 500 block Lindberg Lane. Complainant reported that an employee is believed to have been stealing merchandise from the business.
