Discovery of body Sunday leads to Crystal Lake police investigation

Crystal Lake police are investigating the death of a 34-year-old man whose body was discovered Sunday in the area of Oak Street south of Shipland Drive.

Authorities responded at 8:29 a.m. Sunday to the report of an unconscious man, according to a news release the police department sent about 3 p.m. Monday. When officers arrived, they located the body. There were no obvious signs of injury, according to the release.

The McHenry County coroner's office identified the man as Crystal Lake resident Jeremy Ochal.

"This case is considered an active investigation," the Crystal Lake Police Department said in the release. "While we are still gathering evidence, we are sure there is no danger to the public as a result of this incident. We encourage anyone who may have information relating to this incident to contact the Crystal Lake Police Department at (815) 356-3620."
