Mount Prospect Fire Department collecting clothes for kids

The Mount Prospect Fire Department, in collaboration with the Mount Prospect Human Services Department, is holding a children's clothing drive through Friday, Oct. 1.

Residents or businesses that would like to make a donation can drop off new or gently used children's clothing to any of the Mount Prospect fire stations All sizes are encouraged and welcomed, and donations will be distributed to families that qualify for the village's toy drive.

Donations can be dropped off at: Fire Station 12, 1601 W. Golf Road; Fire Station 13, 111 E. Rand Road (vestibule off Rand Road); Fire Station 14, 2000 E. Kensington Road.

"I ran a clothing drive on my previous department, and it was very well received, said Firefighter Vito LaPorta, who suggested the idea. "I realized the Mount Prospect community could benefit from a program like this as well, so I decided to do it."
