Neighbors ready to welcome more neighbors

Now that Glenview trustees have denied commercial rezoning for the property at Willow and Pfingsten, we'd like to thank everyone involved, and make clear our support for residential use at this site.

Community opposition was based on deeply held concerns that commercial development would make this area less safe and less desirable. We will gladly support a responsible residential plan.

The Glenview housing market is very strong, and Glenview continues to be a great place to live. There are probably many developers interested in this location. To them, we make this pledge: Bring us a sound residential plan that is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and respectful to the community, and we will eagerly work with you to make it happen.

We are a welcoming community - we are neighbors who want more neighbors. So, residential home developers - welcome to Glenview! The welcome mat is out for you.
