Police: Dog stolen in Glenview armed robbery

A man who thought he was meeting a person to sell a dog was held up at gunpoint Wednesday in Glenview, officials said.

Police responded about 5:30 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery on the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue, according to a news release from the Glenview Police Department.

The victim told police the man with whom he'd arranged the sale showed up, pulled a weapon, grabbed the dog and drove away in a black vehicle.

The suspect is described as male, about 18 years old and wearing a black or blue jacket. Police didn't share any further information about the weapon or what type of dog was stolen.

Nobody was injured. Police said they believe this is an isolated case and there is no danger to the public.
