No injuries in Streamwood basement fire

There were no injuries in a Friday night fire in the basement of a multifamily home on Oxford Court in Streamwood.

The fire came to the attention of the Streamwood Fire Department at 8:51 p.m.

Firefighters arriving on the scene reported seeing and some fire in the basement of the two-story building.

Fire companies also searched the residence as well as neighboring buildings and confirmed that all people had evacuated.

Damage was contained to the basement. Bartlett, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, and East Dundee firefighters assisted at the scene. South Elgin and Barrington fire personnel covered Streamwood fire stations during the incident. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and is under investigation.

Damage is estimated at $50,000.
