Brua withdraws from District 128 school board race

The crowded field of candidates for the Libertyville-Vernon Hills Area High School District 128 race has narrowed with the withdrawal of Julie A. Brua.

Brua, a Libertyville resident and superintendent at Gavin Elementary District 37, withdrew Monday for family reasons. She entered the race in mid-December and was one of 11 candidates.

An educator with 34 years experience, Brua said she was running for elected office for the first time to serve the community and provide a well-balanced education to "every student, every school, every day."

Four, 4-year terms are up for contest on April 6.
