Schaumburg Library to host 'hackathon' for teens

People ages 12 to 19 are welcome to "Hack the Library" in a hackathon from 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4 through 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7 online with the Schaumburg Township District Library.

"Hack the Library" is a computer science event for teens that includes virtual meetings, coding workshops and project building. Industry judges will award prizes to the top finishers. All hackathon events take place via Zoom. Registration is required for this free program. One day before the program, participants will receive an email with the rules and a schedule of events with links for the Hackathon.

A full list of online library programs is available at SchaumburgLibrary.org. All three library buildings are closed until further notice, in accordance with the governor's COVID-19 guidelines.
