Palatine District 15 back to school Jan. 5

Students in Palatine Township Elementary District 15 will return to in-person learning Jan. 5 as anticipated, but the district is asking families to consider having students quarantine if their winter break activities put them at increased risk for contracting COVID-19.

Families will continue to have the option to keep their children in all-virtual learning.

Superintendent Laurie Heinz said in an email to parents Friday that the district will not extend its adaptive paused that started after Thanksgiving because data shows that, with appropriate measures, schools are not a primary ssource of spread of the respiratory disease.

Those measures include masks, social distancing, hand washing and sanitation.
