Police say Lisle man slammed door on police officer

A Lisle man faces multiple charges after, police say, he slammed a door on an officer responding to a complaint about a loud party.

James R. Murray has been charged with aggravated battery to police officer, resisting arrest, criminal defacement of property, battery and disorderly conduct. Lisle police said Murray was arrested Saturday night at his apartment on the 6000 block of East Lake Drive.

Police responded at 11:15 p.m. to the apartment because of a noise complaint. Officers had responded earlier and warned Murray about the excessive noise but were called back a short time later after the noise continued.

When officers approached the sliding door to the apartment, Murray closed the door on one of the officers' shoulder and fled into the apartment. Murray was uncooperative and resisted arrest, which resulted in injuries to a police sergeant, authorities said.

Murray was taken to the DuPage County jail to await a bond hearing. During the hearing, his bail was set at $10,000. Murray has since been released from jail and is awaiting a Nov. 23 court date, according to court records.
