Cutouts of Arlington Heights little leaguers at Guaranteed Rate Field

Six Arlington Heights baseball little leaguers can't be at Guaranteed Rate Field for this weekend's crosstown series, but their cardboard cutouts will be.

The likenesses of players from the Knights, part of the Arlington Heights Youth Athletic Association, are in place in Section 154, Row 2, Seats 2-7. They were part of the second wave of the Chicago White Sox's FANtastic Faces charity initiative that went on sale Sept. 4, giving fans one more opportunity to purchase cutouts displayed at the ballpark for the team's final homestand against the Cubs.

The Sox initially sold 2,500 cutouts, and then another 500, raising more than $100,000 for Chicago White Sox Charities.

"Ultimately, our goal was to teach the kids the importance of giving back and supporting our favorite team while doing it," said Ed Bjes, the Knights coach who submitted photos of the players that were supersized and placed in the empty stadium seats.

Each cutout will be authenticated, and then available for pickup by the purchasers after the final home game, officials said.
