DuPage delays vote on fairgrounds

The DuPage County Board delayed a vote Tuesday on a resolution for a three-year lease extension on the DuPage County Fairgrounds in Wheaton.

Board member James Healy, the chairman of the public works committee, took the resolution off the agenda in order to seek out more information from the nonprofit DuPage County Fair Association, which organizes the county fair and operates the fairgrounds.

Healy wants more financial documents from the fair association for the next public works committee meeting set for Oct. 6.

The fair association's lease is set to expire this year. The proposed three-year lease extension is seen as a stopgap measure so negotiations on a long-term lease can continue.
