New Bartlett trustee appointed to succeed Camerer

Bartlett Village President Kevin Wallace recently appointed an 11-year resident of the village to serve the remainder of late Trustee Michael Camerer's term.

Stephanie Gandsey, a past member of Bartlett's economic development commission, was sworn in last month. In addition to her duties as a trustee, she will chair the village board's community & economic development committee.

"We know that Stephanie will be an excellent fit for this board position," Wallace said in a written statement. "Not only does she have an exceptional record of professional accomplishments, she is decidedly enthusiastic about using her knowledge and skills to serve and support our community."

Gandsey has more than 15 years' experience in leadership strategy, marketing, communications and public relations, according to village officials. She previously was appointed to the village's economic development commission three years ago.

She succeeds Camerer, who died unexpectedly of natural causes in June at the age of 61. Camerer was first elected to the village board in 2013 and his current term was set to expire in April 2021.

His death occurred three months after he won the Republican nomination to challenge Democratic incumbent state Rep. Diane Pappas of Itasca for the 45th District seat of the Illinois House in November.

Republican officials last month slated Bartlett resident Seth Lewis to replace Camerer on the Nov. 3 ballot.
