Republicans slate candidate in Illinois House District 45

Republican officials have slated Bartlett resident Seth Lewis to challenge incumbent Diane Pappas of Itasca for the Illinois House District 45 seat in November.

The move comes after Michael Camerer, who won the GOP nomination in March, passed away. "He was a great friend to me, and I'll always remember his kind spirit and everything he did for our community," Lewis said in a statement.

In a news release, GOP officials said Lewis is running to "clean up corruption in Springfield, push for pro-growth policies that will bring jobs back to our local economy, and be an independent voice who will focus on working across the aisle to provide much needed pandemic relief to homeowners and business owners alike."

The 45th District includes all or parts of Addison, Bartlett, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Hanover Park, Itasca, Medinah, Roselle, Wayne, West Chicago and Wood Dale.
