Wheaton details city council candidate filing process

City council hopefuls in Wheaton can start picking up paperwork for nominating petitions in order to appear on the ballot in the spring municipal election.

Four seats representing the city's north, south, east and west districts will be up for election April 6. The city clerk's office at City Hall will make the petitions for candidacy available starting Tuesday.

The candidate filing period for city council seats begins Nov. 16, and runs through Nov. 23, excluding weekends and holidays. Nominating petitions also are filed with the city clerk.

If more than four candidates file for each district seat, a primary election will be held Feb. 23.

For details, contact the city clerk's office at (630) 260-2012.
