Police: 2 men shot in leg in 'targeted' Woodridge shooting
Two men were wounded Wednesday night in a shooting that Woodridge police said appeared to be targeted.
The shooting was reported at 11:29 p.m. in the area of Janes Avenue and Waterbury Drive, just north of 83rd Street.
Police said the first officers to arrive found one man injured and provided first aid until paramedics from the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District arrived. Paramedics then took him to Amita Health Adventist Medical Center in Bolingbrook with injuries not considered life-threatening.
A second man who was shot drove himself to the same hospital, police said.
Both men's injuries came from gunshots that went straight through the leg, police Management Analyst Jim Hoff said.
A preliminary investigation indicates "the offender targeted the victims," Woodridge police said in a news release.
Police did not immediately release a description of the suspect or suspects but said detectives will provide updates as the investigation progresses.
