Northbrook Farmers Market's Summer Stock aims to replenish food pantry
Northbrook Farmers Market once again is asking for the community's help to restock Northfield Township Food Pantry with household cleaning and personal hygiene products.
Summer Stock 2020, sponsored by Lewis Floor & Home, is Wednesday, July 8.
Items of particular need include paper towels, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, laundry detergent, dish soap, women's personal hygiene products, and other dry goods - all items that cannot be purchased with food stamps, but certainly are necessities.
There also will be a jar for cash donations to help the pantry purchase food and supplies as needed.
Market organizers are grateful to Lewis Floor & Home for their generous donation that helps defray expenses associated with the event.
As always, volunteers will be available to help unload cars for those needing assistance with their donations - just come to the Welcome booth.
Northfield Township, which operates the food pantry, will offer information about the pantry at their drop-off table.
Keep in mind that volunteers collect fresh food from vendors each week, for a total of 65,000 pound over the years.
The market is open 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays in the parking lot of Meadow Plaza, Cherry Lane and Meadow Road.
