Roselle police offer no new details on weekend slaying

Roselle authorities offered no new information Sunday about their investigation into a deadly shooting early Saturday morning on the south end of the village.

Police Chief Steve Herron said in an email that the department did not have anything more to share Sunday, and Mayor Andy Maglio said there would be no further details released because it is an ongoing investigation.

The investigation began after officers were called to the area of Picton and Roselle roads about 1:30 a.m. Saturday in response to a report of shots fired.

Police said they arrived to find multiple shooting victims, one of whom was pronounced dead at the scene. That person's identity, as well as the conditions of the other victims, has not been released publicly.

Investigators and forensic examiners from the DuPage Metropolitan Emergency Response and Investigations Team are assisting Roselle detectives in the case, police said.

There is no reason to believe there is a threat to the community, according to police.
