Graduates in Class of 2020: 677

Graduation speakers: Lauren Hughes and Nicholas Moawad (opening); Nicholas Moawad (recognition of armed forces commitments); Mary "Tess" Klygis and Lorenzo Jennings (senior speakers).

 

Class officers: Lauren Hughes, president; Nick Moawad, vice president; Herbert Wang, secretary; Sachin Advani, public relations; Charlie Brubaker and Alex Ovan, social chairs; Jackson Hughes, school board liaison.

Academic achievements: Herbert Wang one of 300 high school seniors named scholars by the Society for Science & the Public in conjunction with the 79th Regeneron Science Talent Search, the nation's oldest and most prestigious science and mathematics competition for high school seniors. Herbert and Central will each receive $2,000 for this accomplishment.

Athletic achievements:

• Outstanding Multisport Athlete Carmignani Family Scholarship Award: Jessica Joy, Mac Quast

• Citizen/Athlete Robert Bell Award: Sarah Cernugel

• Citizen/Athlete Philip R. Clarke Award: Phillip Borhani

• Jim Farmer Service Award: Olivia Beargie, Jack Gallwas

• Most Improved Athlete Award: Kendall Butler, Michael Bennington

Principal's reflections on the Class of 2020: I am proud to recognize the Class of 2020 as a group of students who took multiple punches, stood tall, spoke graciously, and acted heroically. In my eyes this crop of students is bound to make a significant mark on our society.
