Wheaton 'virtual library' hosts workshops, kids activities and more

The Wheaton Public Library is offering a bevy of online resources while the downtown building remains closed during the statewide stay-at-home order.

A virtual library is serving adults, kids and teens with a full lineup of events: book discussions, meditation workshops, youth activities, remote learning, online performances and job search training.

On Friday, for instance, the library will host a virtual classic film discussion and trivia from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and family game night from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. A Zoom chat Saturday morning will allow patrons to swap recipes.

Anyone living within the boundaries of Wheaton Warrenville Unit District 200 can obtain a temporary library card to access eContent and online programming. District residents can sign up for a card at Wheatonlibrary.org/getcard. For a full schedule of online programming, visit Wheatonlibrary.org/calendar.
