Dist. 21 names new Frost principal

Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 has named a new principal for Robert Frost Elementary School in Mount Prospect.

Timothy Prikkel, the assistant principal at Wauconda Grade School in Wauconda Elementary District 118 since 2017, will begin his new role in District 21 in July. He was chosen from among 10 candidates who interviewed with district administrators in January, then three semifinalists who met with Frost faculty, staff, parents and students in February.

Prikkel previously was a fine arts and dual language kindergarten literacy teacher at John Jay Elementary School in Elk Grove Township Elementary District 59.

District 21 began a search after reassigning former principal Jeffrey Brusso to a new district position, coordinator of research and development. The interim Frost principal is Brigid Ohlwein.

Prikkel's $112,000-a-year contract was approved last Thursday by the school board.
