Spring Grove woman accused of stealing $135K from employer
A Spring Grove woman has been charged with theft and forgery, accused of stealing more than $135,000 from her employer.
Jennifer L. Bridgeman, 39, was a secretary at a business in Gilberts from 2016 to 2019. She wrote company checks to herself and forged the owner's signature on them, according to a news release from the Kane County state's attorney's office.
She faces two counts of theft and six counts of forgery.
Bridgeman turned herself in to police Friday and posted $5,000 bail. Her next court date is 9 a.m. Jan. 3.
If convicted of the most serious charge, she could receive probation or 4 to 15 years in prison.
Bridgeman lives in the 200 block of West Greenwood Avenue.
