State Rep. Michelle Mussman hosting climate change panel discussion

State Rep. Michelle Mussman of Schaumburg will host a panel discussion on ways to combat the effects of climate change and other environmental issues through recycling and conservation.

The environmental awareness discussion panel will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Elk Grove Village Public Library, 1001 Wellington Ave. Mussman will be joined by state Sen. Laura Murphy of Des Plaines, Jennifer Walling of the Illinois Environmental Council, Sierra Club's Peter Gorr and others.

Panelists will answer questions from the audience. The event is free and open to the public.

"It is more important than ever for us to work together to address the devastating effects of climate change and find real ways to improve how we manage the waste produced every day in America," Mussman said in an announcement of the event.
