Input sought on Lakewood master plan

Lake County Forest Preserve District staff and commissioners are seeking resident input regarding two concept plans involving recreation and restoration improvements at Lakewood Forest Preserve in Wauconda. Comments about the options can be sent through Oct. 14 via email at Lakewood@LCFPD.org. Visit https://www.lcfpd.org/preserves/improvement-projects/ to learn about the plans. The master plan will evaluate existing conditions and uses and identify potential recreation, education and conservation improvements. Proposals will consolidate uses for a more efficient design to reduce long- and short-term operating costs. At 2,835 acres, Lakewood is the single largest in the forest preserve system.
