Hops & Props beer fest at Schaumburg Airport Sept. 28

Many suburbs hold local beer fests, but how many have their own airports to combine attendees' interest in aviation?

Schaumburg's Hops & Props event will celebrate local brews, food and aircraft from throughout the Midwest from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Schaumburg Regional Airport, 905 W. Irving Park Road.

Featuring vintage aircraft, live music and local vendors, Hops & Props will be held in the airport's hangar and ramp. It's for people 21 years and older.

Attendees should check in at one of the two entrance areas by showing a government-issued ID. The $5-per-person tickets can be purchased either at the airport or online via the village's website.

Food, beer, wine and nonalcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Casual attire is recommended.

For more information, call Airport Manager Erik Trydal at (847) 923-3778 or dial 311 within the village of Schaumburg.
