Wauconda man sentenced to 5 years in prison after 2016 burglary

A Wauconda man was sentenced to five years in prison for burglarizing a home in an unincorporated area near McHenry in 2016, officials said.

Christopher S. Keeton, 51, was sentenced in the Illinois Department of Corrections for one count of felony residential burglary after he entered the home March 4, 2016, "with the intent to commit a theft or felony," according to a news release from the McHenry County state's attorney. Authorities said the homeowner caught him and he ran away but was found four days later by the McHenry County sheriff's office, which investigated the case.
