Palatine's Allegro Community Chorus hosts meet-and-greet Aug. 28

The Palatine Park District's Allegro Community Chorus will host a Fall Meet & Greet from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at Emmett's Brewing Company, 110 N. Brockway St., Palatine.

Founded in 2003, the chorus welcomes experienced singers as well as those with limited choral experience, ages 18 and over. No audition is necessary, all are welcome.

Kevin Kelly became the Artistic Director of Allegro Community Chorus in September 2015.

"My goals are to build the size of the chorus and especially its quality of sound, while retaining its joyful spirit," he said. "Allegro is a warm and enthusiastic bunch who are eager to learn and improve, and who love to entertain a crowd. We welcome new singers with experience, as well as choral newbies."

The chorus gives two formal concerts in Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center each year and frequently sings for other occasions.
