Mount Prospect holding mental health awareness event Thursday evening

The Mount Prospect Human Services Department is hosting a Mental Health Awareness Community Event from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at the village hall, 50 S. Emerson St.

"We want people to know they are not alone, and there are organizations in the community that can help," said Esther Martinez of the Human Services Department.

The event will include a Resource Fair from 5 to 6 p.m., with local mental health providers offering information about their services. That will be followed by speakers and a Q&A session.

Participating agencies include: NAMI Northwest Suburban, In-Home Counseling, Prospect High School, Cook County State's Attorney's Office, Alexian Center for Mental Health, Kenneth Young Center, Lutheran Social Services, Mount Prospect Police Department and Village of Mount Prospect Human Services Department.
