Driver hospitalized after vehicle rolls over in Mount Prospect parking lot

A 68-year-old woman is in the hospital after her car rolled over in a Mount Prospect parking lot Thursday afternoon, according to Mount Prospect police Officer Gregory Sill.

The woman was driving through the parking lot at 940 E. Rand Road around 4:43 p.m. when she struck a parking block, which caused her vehicle to roll onto the driver's side, Sill said.

When the car rolled, it struck a nearby parked car, according to Sill.

The Mount Prospect Fire Department responded to the scene and had to extricate her from the vehicle, Sill said. She was then taken to Northwest Community Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating the crash and have not yet taken the driver's statement.
