Streamwood mayor honored at Hanover Township awards breakfast

Streamwood Village President Billie Roth received the top recognition - the Mary Ellen "Mel" Runzel Volunteer Service Award - at the recent Hanover Township Supervisor's Community Service Award breakfast.

Roth has served in public office for more than 30 years and is actively involved with Children's Advocacy Center, Shelter Inc., Easter Seals, Kiwanis and the American Cancer Society.

Other awards went to: Margaret DeGruy and Corinne Angle, Youth Volunteer; Archangel Mastrangelo, Senior Volunteer; Mary Wojtczak, Adult Volunteer; Bartlett Lions Club, Organization of the Year; and Essendant, Business of the Year.

Those winning the Supervisor's Choice Awards include Mariano's, Outstanding Business of the Year; Woodland Meadows East Home Owners Association, Outstanding Organization of the Year; Mary Thon, Adult Volunteer; and Brenda Perez, Youth Volunteer.
