Burrito Parrilla Mexicana to open this week in Algonquin

A popular, family-owned burrito restaurant is expanding along the Randall Road corridor.

Burrito Parrilla Mexicana opened in Batavia in June at 76 S. Randall Road, just south of Wilson Street.

This week, the second Randall Road corridor location is expected to open in Algonquin at 2321 Algonquin Road.

The business will fill the vacant spot left by the former Fradillio's hot dog restaurant on the south side of Algonquin Road, just east of Randall Road.

Valeria Mayorga, Burrito Parrilla Mexicana's area supervisor, said they are excited to bring the family-owned restaurant business to the area. They have had success in Batavia, she said, and are hoping the restaurant also becomes popular in the Algonquin area.

"This is farther out than any of the other ones we have," Mayorga said. "We just thought Algonquin would open up more doors for us and let us expand and get more people to know us."

The restaurant's first location was in Lombard. The new Algonquin spot will bring the total number of Burrito Parrilla Mexicana restaurants to eight, Mayorga said. There also are spots in Naperville, Carol Stream, Lisle, Glendale Heights and West Chicago.

In August, she added, they expect to open their second Naperville location.

Mayorga said customers like the restaurant's vibe and its authentic Mexican cuisine.

Burrito Parrilla Mexicana is fast-casual, meaning customers order at the counter and then a server brings their food out to them. At Burrito Parrilla Mexicana, once your get your table, the server will bring out your chips and salsa and take care of any drinks or other needs.

Servers also will bring the food out to the table once it is ready.

Mayorga said the food is made with fresh ingredients and flavors influenced from Mexico City.

Naturally, there are burritos on the menu. However, there also are tacos, tortas, salads, fajitas, enchiladas and more. There also are kids meals, breakfast foods and desserts. The restaurant also offers catering.

"We serve very (good) quality food," Mayorga said. "We try to make the food the way people like it, and that quality they like.

"We also try to take care of our customers as well as our employees, so it is a good experience for everyone," she said.
