Melidosian turns back Raspanti challenge for Park Ridge city council

In a Park Ridge race that pitted Alderman Charles Melidosian against former Alderman Salvatore Raspanti, the current alderman easily won.

The unofficial returns show Melidosian tallying 588 votes, for 62 percent, against Raspanti's 365 in the Fifth Ward.

Melidosian had been appointed two years ago to fill out the unexpired term of late Alderman Dan Knight.

At the time, Raspanti had served on a mayor's advisory panel that had recommended Melidosian.
