Incumbents Siegal and Anderson, plus Yaffe, ahead in Mundelein District 120

Two incumbents and a newcomer were elected to fill three seats on the Mundelein High School District 120 board.

Veteran trustees Jane Siegal and Joanne Anderson plus newcomer Lisa Yaffe were out front in the contest with all precincts reporting. Unofficial results showed the trio with 1,929, 1,578 and 1,661 votes, respectively. Newcomer Peter B. Rastrelli was in fourth with 1,119 votes.

Provisional ballots and late-arriving mail-in ballots are not included.

Only two incumbents were in the race because longtime school board member Al Hitzke didn't seek re-election.

Siegal is a Mundelein resident and retired District 120 social worker who's been a board member since 2015. Anderson, a Mundelein resident and comptroller for New Trier Township High School, joined the board in 2011 and is its president.

Yaffe, who lives in unincorporated Lake County, has spent a decade on the board of Diamond Lake Elementary District 76, including the last eight years as president.

The election precedes a significant administrative development for Mundelein High. Starting this fall, Superintendent Kevin Myers also will oversee the staff off Mundelein Elementary School District 75. Both districts will contribute to his salary and benefits.
