Lawmakers to host cannabis town hall at Mount Prospect library

Four state lawmakers are hosting a town hall about marijuana at the Mount Prospect Public Library at 10 a.m. Saturday. State Sen. Ann Gillespie, an Arlington Heights Democrat, is co-hosting the event, along with state Sen. Julie Morrison, a Deerfield Democrat; state Rep. Mark Walker, an Arlington Heights Democrat; and state Rep. Jonathan Carroll, a Northbrook Democrat. State Sen. Heather Steans, a Chicago Democrat, will present details of the proposal to legalize adult-use marijuana in Illinois, a plan she is co-sponsoring. Steans will also answer audience questions. Mount Prospect Public Library is at 10 S. Emerson St.
