AdeptiCon gaming convention returns to Schaumburg this weekend

AdeptiCon, billed as the world's premiere miniature wargaming event, is returning to the Schaumburg Convention Center beginning Thursday and continuing through Sunday.

Organizers say that over the past 16 years, AdeptiCon has become an international destination offering some of the largest and most eclectic wargaming tournaments, hobby experiences and board gaming events available for people of all ages.

For those interested in painting and modeling, AdeptiCon will have a diverse hobby seminar schedule featuring artists from around the world providing insight into their techniques and competing for the Crystal Brush, with the overall winner receiving $10,000.

Other highlights include a board game library that allows attendees to checkout a game to play, and events featuring authors, artists, game designers and industry leaders.

Hours are from 8 a.m. to midnight Thursday and Friday; 7 a.m. to midnight Saturday; and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The convention center is at 1551 Thoreau Drive, Schaumburg.
