Police looking for two suspects in Crystal Lake armed robberies
Police are searching for two men who are suspected of robbing two Crystal Lake gas stations Monday evening, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department.
Shortly before 6:47 p.m., two men entered the Open Pantry Market Gas Station, located at 4811 Northwest Hwy., according to the release. One of them pulled out a handgun and demanded cash from the cashier, and they left the store with cash and merchandise. They were last seen running down Manor Road, the release said.
Around 7:40 p.m., the same two men entered the Circle K Gas Station, located at 280 N. Route 31, and both of them pulled out handguns while demanding cash, the release said.
The suspects left the store with cash and again fled on foot, this time running north on Route 31, according to the release.
There were no injuries reported in either robbery.
One of the suspects was described as a black male around 6 feet tall with a heavier build, the release said. He was wearing a black hoodie, dark pants and black athletic shoes, according to the release.
The other suspect was described as a black or possibly Hispanic male around 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build, the release said. He was wearing a blue hooded jacket with stripes down each arm, ripped blue jeans, a ball cap and dark shoes, according to the release.
Crystal Lake police are still investigating.
