Issue questions

What are the most important issues facing your community and how do you intend to address them?

Economic Development, parks and rec, the interconnect. All are being addressed through Strategic Planning Teams and working close with Staff. All are ongoing issues

What makes you the best candidate for the job?

Experience and the willingness to always make decisions that are best for the community. Also I have lived here for over 45 years.

Describe your leadership style and explain how you think that will be effective in producing actions and decisions with your village board or city council.

I always make sure I'm educated on the issues before I vote and have learned that compromise is a great tool. How would you describe the condition of your community's budget, and what are the most important specific actions the town should take to assure providing the level of services people want?

For this time in the state of Illinois we're not in bad shape, As a board its out job to hold the line on spending while finding additional forms of funding through grants and economic development. We need to stay creative!

What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?

Well, one idea that's been out there for a while but is finally gathering momentum is the countywide consolidation of 911 centers. Fox Lake (Fox Com) has been a leader in this area for years, since 2005. Consolidation is the financially responsible way to go and it will eliminate the cost of personnel and equipment, while keeping the integrity of service provided. Consolidation is the way to go.
