Glendale Heights man faces child porn charges

A Glendale Heights man is being held in DuPage County jail after police found child pornography on computer equipment at his home.

Robert Gonzalez, 22, of the 700 block of Fox Avenue, has been charged with six counts of possession of child pornography.

A joint effort between Glendale Heights police and investigators from the Illinois attorney general's internet Crimes Against Children Task Force led to Gonzalez's arrest Wednesday.

Investigators obtained a search warrant for Gonzalez's home and executed it Wednesday morning. Investigators seized computer equipment that "contained numerous computerized files depicting child pornography," police said in news release.

Gonzalez, who was present during the execution of the search warrant, was then taken into custody.

Gonzalez was turned over to the DuPage County jail. His bail was set at $50,000, meaning he would have to post 10 percent to be released.

He is next due in court April 4.
